13 Days of Halloween Cookies – Day 6

These two cookies brought back some fun memories for me.  When I was a kid we didn’t have a television for a few years.  My oldest brother worked at the local library and he would check out the projector and old films so we could watch them at home.  My fondest memories are of seeing old monster movies, including “Frankenstein” and “Bride of Frankenstein” projected on the wall of our livingroom.
Here I took the classic vision of Frankenstein and used the skull cut-out to make his face (minus the neck bolts).  The base is an ivory flood consistency icing with a green layer painted on.  Next the outline is done in black with Wilton Small Edible Eyes to complete the look.  The bride is a hybrid of a Dios De Los Muertos design, though I’m not happy with the way it came out.  The color of the vine icing should have been darker and the flower tip (Tip #2D) is a bit too large for the desired effect.  Still fun to experiment…just like Dr. Frankenstein!  LOL
