Fall Acorn and Scarecrow Cookies

This is a continuation of last week’s post where I showed some Maple Leaf Cookies that I made using a large brass cookie cutter.  On that same shopping day I bought these acorn and scarecrow cutters.  If I’m not mistaken, I bought them from a kitchen shop in Solvang, California.  Once again I was able to do some fun techniques that I’d like to share.

The acorns were done with a simple quilt pattern, though I know I need more practice on this.  I love the look of the acorn with the Wilton Pearl Dust in bronze, but still need practice piping.  I’m setting up my work area with better lighting and hope that I can get some cleaner results as I go on my cookie journey.  The scarecrows were fun in large part because there’s no right or wrong way to decorate them.  They are pure whimsey and that’s the best way to learn something new…with total abandon in trying something new!  Have a great weekend!
